Unarmed security guards are the most common type of guard services used. Unarmed guards can be in uniform or not. Most commonly unarmed guards are in uniform and highly visible to help deter would-be criminals. Unarmed guards are commonly used by many big clients on posts where there is a low risk of violence. Unarmed guards are generally better suited to monitor CCTV or work access control for a business conference than armed security guards. Unarmed security guards are almost always more affordable than armed guards. Also, security guards can be armed with a Taser, OC spray, or baton instead of a firearm.
